Woodyfest is fast approaching, and the musical highlight from my few years of attendance was the Dedringers. These two guys put on a great acoustic show with amazing harmonies. A year or two later I went on a road trip to Norman to see them perform at The Deli, only to discover that they had converted into a full blown band. Not entirely a bad thing, but we definitely preferred the acoustic set.

Now The Dedringers are about to release a new CD on Thursday, but you can download the entire album Sweetheart of the Neighborhood for free (don’t forget to add song numbers to your filenames). At the very least you should grab Heart of Gold. It definitely has the closest feel to their acoustic performance from years ago. I also strongly suggest you check out Institution and Sideman Blues, which you can preview on The Dedringers myspace page. Both songs have a rocking, gritty guitar feel. if you want to listen to some songs before you download them.
